Gleneagles Hotel, Perthshire, 1984…a passion was ignited in a young mans heart!

that of “catering and hospitality management”…well!…it led to a Napier University degree but, the depth of the passion was firmly embedded in his mothers home of 30 years…Spain!

For 15 years Robert Scobie firmly established himself as a formidable player in the Edinburgh restaurant scene specialising in Spanish Tapas.

Among his initial successes were the formation of “Tapas Tree” and “Tapas Ole” both of which he passed on after uniting with his wife “Kate” and heading abroad to warmer climes.

As Kate though said…

the sand may be whiter, the sun may be brighter but the grass is definitely not greener…!

After a few years “down under” where they were both thrust into the forefront of one of Western Australia premier restaurants they worked their way back to Edinburgh stopping off in Spain for a year to “fine tune” their Tapas expertise and their Spanish Tapas experience.

…after our time in Australia, our year immersed in the Spanish culture and lifestyle proved to us all, as a family, categorically and without a doubt that it was time to go back to our roots and love our catering and personal life…SPAIN and TAPAS.

Now returning to Edinburgh, together, all four, they have opened their latest venture
